Ceilidh
Ruth grew up surrounded by the sound of traditional folk and ceilidh music and has played in ceilidh bands since the age of 14. As well as her own ceilidh band Ruth regularly plays with West Midlands based bands Rabscallion and The Burdock Band.
If you’ve never been to a ceilidh before it is the perfect way to bring your friends together in a fun social way for weddings, parties and celebrations. Traditional Scottish/Irish tunes with a contemporary up beat backing bring an exciting energy and lots of laughs to your event. No previous dancing experience required, you will be walked through some simple dance steps and have lots of fun doing so!
If you want a break from the dancing we also offer live background music and traditional songs and can even play/sing a live version of your first dance.
Book
Depending on your type of event, Ruth offers a variety of packages from a smaller 3 piece trio right up to a full blown 8 piece lively band. The band are very flexible with set lengths and timings, and each booking is tailored to your personal event.
Ceilidh bookings can also be combined with a discounted booking of live classical, pop or folk strings music for wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions or wedding breakfast music. We have it all covered, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch and see what we can offer you.
