Theatre

Since 2014 Ruth has worked in Theatre as a violinist and composer. Her specialism as a folk and traditional fiddle player within theatre has allowed her to bring her own influences to her roles and led to commissions and projects based around traditional music.

In 2015 the Royal Shakespeare Company commissioned Ruth to create and perform the solo violin music for a production of Seven Ages of Man culminating in a performance at the top of Shard in London.

Ruth has performed in a number of plays and shows for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon as well as touring the UK with Henry IV part I and II as part of the King and Country Tour.

Ruth has worked with Sonia Sabri Company devising and creating the music for Roshni, a show presenting Indian Kathak dancing in a contemporary context.

Recent theatre credits include: Henry IV (RSC), Don Quixote (RSC), Annie (Solihull Core), Wendy and Peter (RSC), Seven Acts of Mercy (RSC), Tamburlaine (RSC), Two Gentlemen of Verona (RSC) and Seven Ages of Man (Composer, Violinist) (RSC).
